As we enjoy this weekend and the unofficial start of summer, take time to reflect on what Memorial Day is truly about: the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. From the first Memorial Day observance following the Civil War, to the solemn ceremonies many of us have attended, the citizens of our nation have always honored the fallen and reflected on their courage and commitment to defending our freedoms.
